CAREERS IN DESIGNING
|Nature of work
Designing demands good acumen and work in planning and precision for shaping products, creating effects and optimizing functionality.
Designers are the prime trendsetters for the world. They decide on the new style, design, pattern for each season and each period of time for the advancing world.
Whichever field of design one chooses to specialize in, there are specific area related work that are done. But in general; designers through the use of color, image, type choices, complexity, and flow, reflect the essence of that particular subject, be it an advertisement for a service, a portrait of a person that allows a glimpse into their soul, a website for a business, a dress for a special event or a stage layout for an occasion. Designers work towards making a visual impact with their product, presenting a message to a particular audience – making the ideas clear and memorable.
They need to always bear in mind that irrespective of how attractive a design may look, if the audience for whom it is meant for, can’t understand the message or the function of the product, their product is not considered as one which has ‘good design value’. So they need to always combine beauty with functionality.
There is no need to be a genius at art, but you must be able to sketch things out clearly and precisely, to show a design. You must be artistic, creative and possess the ability to translate your ideas in sketches and then be able to present the same. Be proficient at combining colours, shades and tones.

Skills in communication, persuading and influencing are required along with the ability to work in ia team. Self-confidence, ambition and determination will contribute to your success as a designer.
